Magento Agency
Orange Collar Media is a Magento development agency. We build stores, keep them running, write the extensions they need, connect them to ERPs, and move them off platforms that stopped fitting. One team does all of it, so the person who answers your support ticket can read the code the last project left behind.
What we do
Support and maintenance
Most Magento stores need someone on call more than they need a rebuild. Our Magento support and maintenance plans cover monitoring, security patching, bug fixes and version upgrades. When the checkout breaks on a Friday, emergency support is the page to read. If you run Adobe Commerce, see Adobe Commerce support.
Custom development
Custom checkout rules, pricing logic, admin tools, theme work. If you need extra capacity on your own team, you can also hire a Magento developer directly. Before we touch a store we have not seen, a code audit shows what is in there.
Extensions, including OCM Labs modules
We write Magento extensions to order, and we sell six of our own through OCM Labs: Extra Fees, FAQ, Support Tickets, Webhooks, WordPress Integration and Product Messaging. Browse them on the Magento extensions page or in the OCM Labs store. We run them on our own store, which is how we find the bugs before you do.
Integrations
Orders in Magento, inventory and the ledger somewhere else, and a person retyping between them. We connect Magento to ERPs, accounting, CRM, PIM, POS and warehouse systems. Start at Magento integration, then go to Magento ERP integration, NetSuite or SAP if that is your system.
Migration
Moving to Magento from another platform, or from an old Magento version to a current one. The risky parts are redirects, URL structure and order history, so those get planned before data moves. See Magento migration. If Magento is the platform you are leaving, we also do Shopify migration.
Performance and hosting
Slow category pages cost sales. We tune Magento performance, build faster Hyvä frontends, and design hosting on AWS. See performance and hosting and AWS architecture.
SEO
Magento ships with SEO problems that default settings do not fix: faceted URLs, duplicate canonicals, bloated sitemaps. Our Magento SEO service is technical first.
Who this suits
You run a store that makes money on Magento or Adobe Commerce, and you want a team that knows the platform instead of a generalist agency that took the job. That covers merchants who need a development partner, a support team, or a second pair of hands on an integration.
We also build and maintain Shopify stores. See Shopify Plus if you are weighing the two platforms.
B2B stores
A B2B Magento build usually comes down to a few questions. Who sees which prices. Whether buyers log in to company accounts. How orders reach the ERP, and how stock and invoice status come back. We can build on Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce, and we will say which one fits your catalog and your ERP before you commit.
How an engagement works
- You tell us what is wrong or what you want. Use the project form. An engineer reads it and replies.
- We look at the store. For an existing store that usually means a code audit or a review of your current setup. For a new build, a scoping call.
- You get a proposal. Scope, who does the work, what it costs. Project work is quoted against that scope (see what custom work costs). Ongoing work runs on a support plan.
- We build and ship in stages. You review on a staging site before anything reaches production.
- We stay. Many projects roll into support, because the team that built it already knows where everything is.
Why Orange Collar Media
- Established 2008, 800+ Magento builds. Most of what breaks on a Magento store, we have seen break before.
- Hyvä Partner. If you want a fast storefront on Hyvä, we build on it.
- We make Magento modules and run them ourselves. OCM Labs sells 6 Magento modules: Extra Fees, FAQ, Support Tickets, Webhooks, WordPress Integration and Product Messaging. They run on our own store, and the support is ours.
- Our own store is built the way we build yours. The OCM Labs store runs on Magento with technical SEO handled in code. A custom module adds a canonical tag to the home page and every CMS page, because Magento only does that for products and categories. A plugin keeps the boilerplate cookie-restriction page out of the XML sitemap. A separate module outputs Organization, WebSite, Product and FAQPage JSON-LD. The sitemap regenerates nightly at 3:00 by cron. Look at the page source on the OCM Labs store and check.
What custom work costs
Custom work is quoted after a scoping call. Two stores with the same feature list can differ a lot in how much code stands in the way, so we do not publish one price list. Published ranges for related work show the scale:
- Integration, level 1: a connector set up and configured, $3,000-8,000, 2-4 weeks.
- Integration, level 2: a custom API integration for orders, inventory and customers, $10,000-25,000, 4-8 weeks.
- Integration, level 3: a complex ERP sync with B2B pricing, multiple warehouses or middleware, $25,000-75,000+, 8-16 weeks.
These are typical ranges, quoted after a scoping call. The levels are explained on the Magento integration page.
Magento SEO is priced the same way: an audit is $2,500-5,000 as a fixed fee, and a monthly retainer is $1,500-4,000.
