MAGENTO INTEGRATION

Magento Odoo Integration: Connectors, Cost and Timeline

Odoo can run orders, stock and invoicing behind a Magento store. Its older XML-RPC and JSON-RPC endpoints are scheduled for removal in Odoo 22, so a new build should use the JSON-2 API, which Odoo offers only on Custom pricing plans.

WHAT SYNCS

What moves between Odoo ERP and Magento.

DATADIRECTIONNOTES
OrdersOut of MagentoMagento orders are imported into Odoo with customers and products (Webkul). ECOSIRE captures an order as it is placed, and SDLC pulls new orders on a configurable schedule.
InventoryBoth waysECOSIRE maps Magento multi-source inventory sources to Odoo warehouse locations. Webkul syncs stock as sales come in and offers bulk stock sync from the Odoo side.
Products and pricesBoth waysWebkul syncs products, categories and attributes between the two systems. SDLC pushes product updates and pricing changes from Odoo to Magento. ECOSIRE maps customer groups to Odoo pricelists.
CustomersBoth waysCustomer records and saved addresses sync both ways (Webkul, ECOSIRE). SDLC imports customers from Magento into Odoo and keeps them in sync.
B2B accounts and price listsInto MagentoECOSIRE maps customer groups to Odoo pricelists for tiered or B2B pricing, and says it confirms Adobe Commerce B2B features such as company accounts and shared catalogs during scoping.
InvoicesBoth waysWebkul creates invoices in Odoo when the order is invoiced in Magento. ECOSIRE returns invoice status to Magento, and SDLC exports invoices created in Odoo to Magento customers.
ShipmentsInto MagentoWebkul sends tracking numbers to the storefront once Odoo marks delivery. ECOSIRE returns shipment status, and SDLC sends shipment details back.
Returns, credit notes and refundsOut of MagentoWebkul sells a separate Credit Memo add-on: when a return request arrives in Magento, it creates a credit invoice and a return delivery in Odoo. ECOSIRE says partial invoices and refunds map to Odoo and does not mention returns. Confirm returns scope with SDLC and Emipro.

THE API

The Odoo ERP API.

ASPECTDETAIL
API typeExternal JSON-2 API: POST a JSON object to /json/2/<model>/<method>. The XML-RPC endpoints (/xmlrpc and /xmlrpc/2) and the JSON-RPC endpoint (/jsonrpc) are deprecated and scheduled for removal in Odoo 22 (fall 2028) and Odoo Online 21.1 (winter 2027).
AuthenticationA bearer API key in the Authorization header. Keys are generated per user, the value is shown once, and a key cannot last longer than three months, so long-running integrations must rotate keys at least that often. Odoo recommends dedicated bot users with minimum permissions for integrations. Access to the external API is available only on Custom Odoo pricing plans, not on One App Free or Standard.
Rate limitsThe Odoo 19.0 external API page does not mention a request-rate limit. By default a user can generate up to 10 API keys programmatically, and exceeding that returns HTTP 422. Ask your host (Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or on-premises) about any limits that apply to your plan.

NAMETYPENOTESLINK
Webkul Odoo Magento ConnectorExtensionWebkul's store prices it at $199 for Magento Open Source, plus $199 for either Adobe Commerce edition and $100 for installation, with three months of support included. It lists Magento versions 2.4.x, 2.3.x, 2.2.x and 2.0.x to 2.1.x and Odoo 8.0 to 19.0, says it also works with Odoo Online, and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Syncs products, orders, customers, inventory, invoices, tracking numbers, taxes and payment methods. Returns need the separate Credit Memo add-on.Vendor page (opens in a new tab)
Emipro Odoo Magento ConnectorExtensionOdoo Apps Store module for bi-directional exchange of catalogs, orders, customers and inventory. The page read is the Odoo 10.0 version, priced at $423.76; its version selector lists 9.0 to 20.0, so check the price for your Odoo version. It names no specific Magento versions. It does not describe a returns flow.Vendor page (opens in a new tab)
SDLC Magento ConnectorExtensionOdoo Apps Store module. The listing shows Odoo 18.0, but its description says 'Built for Odoo 14.0 - 17.0', so confirm the version with the vendor. Two-way sync of products, orders, customers, stock, invoices and shipments through scheduled cron jobs, with order cancellation in both directions. It lists support for Magento versions 2.3.x to 2.4.x and for Community and Enterprise, and it runs on Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and on-premises. The page shows no price.Vendor page (opens in a new tab)
TechMarbles Odoo SyncExtensionListed on the Adobe Commerce Marketplace. The listing loads in a browser only, so we could not read its features or price; check the listing directly.Vendor page (opens in a new tab)
ECOSIRE Odoo ERP ConnectorExtensionBuild-to-order module that ECOSIRE designs, builds and installs, not a marketplace download. The page shows a one-time price from $999 as a starting point (no $499 price appears on it) and does not name Odoo versions, which it confirms during scoping. It quotes about one working week of delivery and two weeks of go-live support. It talks to Odoo's External API over XML-RPC or JSON-RPC, or REST where available, so ask how it will move to JSON-2. Supports Odoo Community and Enterprise on Odoo.sh, on-premises or a managed VPS.Vendor page (opens in a new tab)
Alumio Connect (Magento to Odoo)iPaaSHub-style iPaaS. The page says Magento and Odoo are a starting point, lists orders, products, customers, inventory levels, prices and status updates as common flows, and says sync runs in real time or on a schedule depending on configuration. Available objects depend on what each system's API exposes. It names no Magento or Odoo versions and shows no price; it links to separate Connect Lite and Connect Core tiers. It says most integrations go live in weeks.Vendor page (opens in a new tab)
MuleSoft Adobe Commerce Connector (Mule 4)iPaaSThird-party Mule 4 connector for the Magento REST API, developed by TA Digital and listed on MuleSoft Exchange. The listing says it requires an additional fee. It covers the Magento side only; the Odoo side is built in Mule flows.Vendor page (opens in a new tab)

COST AND TIMELINE

Cost and timeline.

LEVELSCOPETYPICAL RANGETIMELINE
Level 1Connector set up and configured$3,000-8,0002-4 weeks
Level 2 (this integration)Custom API integration (orders, inventory, customers)$10,000-25,0004-8 weeks
Level 3Complex ERP sync (B2B pricing, multiple warehouses, middleware)$25,000-75,000+8-16 weeks

Typical range, quoted after a scoping call.

A standard order, stock and customer sync sits at level 2. A packaged connector keeps the license small, from $199 on Webkul's store, but the project time goes into mapping and testing: variants, fiscal positions, warehouses and partly shipped orders. Custom Odoo modules, several companies or a move to JSON-2 push it toward level 3. The packaged options here come from Webkul, Emipro, SDLC and ECOSIRE, and Alumio offers an iPaaS hub. None of the pages read says it is published by Odoo or Adobe, so treat each as vendor-supported. Check which Odoo API a connector calls. ECOSIRE's page names XML-RPC and JSON-RPC, which Odoo plans to remove. The Webkul, Emipro, SDLC and Alumio pages read do not say which API they use. Sync timing. ECOSIRE captures orders as they are placed and runs scheduled cron reconciliation with retries and backoff. Webkul describes real-time order status and stock sync. Alumio says sync runs in real time or on a schedule, depending on configuration. SDLC's page says it can "Sync orders in real-time or via scheduled batch transfer for data-heavy flows" and that "Scheduled cron jobs handle all sync operations", and it pulls new orders on a configurable schedule. Emipro's page read gives no intervals. Supported versions. Webkul lists Magento versions 2.4.x, 2.3.x, 2.2.x and 2.0.x to 2.1.x with Odoo 8.0 to 19.0. SDLC's listing shows Odoo 18.0 but its description says 'Built for Odoo 14.0 - 17.0' (confirm with the vendor), with Magento versions 2.3.x to 2.4.x. Emipro lists Odoo 9.0 to 20.0. ECOSIRE scopes the Odoo and Magento versions per project.

WHERE THESE PROJECTS GO WRONG

Where these projects go wrong.

  • API removal. XML-RPC and JSON-RPC are scheduled for removal in Odoo 22, so any connector built on them needs a move to JSON-2.
  • Plan access. The external API is available only on Custom Odoo pricing plans, so confirm your plan before you buy a connector.
  • Key expiry. API keys last three months at most. An integration that stores one key and never rotates it will stop working without warning.
  • Variants. Odoo product variants have to map to Magento configurable products and their children.
  • Fiscal positions. Odoo fiscal positions and Magento tax classes can give different totals on the same order.
  • Warehouses. Odoo warehouses and routes have to map to Magento sources, which is the mapping ECOSIRE builds for multi-source inventory.
  • Partial fulfillment. An order shipped or invoiced in parts creates several Odoo documents that Magento has to reflect. Test it before launch.
  • Returns. Webkul sells credit memo handling as an add-on, so a base install may not create credit invoices.

QUESTIONS MERCHANTS ASK

Odoo ERP integration FAQ.

Which Odoo API should a new Magento integration use?+
The JSON-2 API. Odoo's documentation says the XML-RPC and JSON-RPC endpoints are deprecated and scheduled for removal in Odoo 22 (fall 2028) and Odoo Online 21.1 (winter 2027).
How does authentication work?+
Requests carry a bearer API key created for a user. A key can last at most three months, and its value is shown once. Odoo recommends a dedicated bot user with minimum permissions.
Can I use the API on Odoo Online?+
Only on a Custom Odoo pricing plan. Odoo's documentation says the external API is not available on One App Free or Standard plans.
Is there a ready-made connector, and what does it cost?+
Yes. Webkul's store lists $199 for Magento Open Source, plus $199 for an Adobe Commerce edition and $100 for installation. Emipro's Odoo 10.0 page shows $423.76, and ECOSIRE builds to order from $999. SDLC's and Alumio's pages show no price.
Are returns and credit notes synced?+
Webkul handles them with a separate Credit Memo add-on that creates a credit invoice and a return delivery in Odoo. ECOSIRE says partial invoices and refunds map to Odoo. Ask SDLC and Emipro.
How long does an integration take?+
A packaged connector with standard flows usually lands at level 2, and the table above shows the typical range. ECOSIRE says about one working week for its build, before testing on your data. Final price and timeline come after a scoping call.
